Between juggling work, family, and the ever-growing to-do list, it can be hard to start your day grounded and energized. That’s why we connected with DaLynn Moore, a passionate advocate for mental wellness, to talk about a morning practice that has the power to transform your mindset and energy-helping you move through the day with more calm.
DaLynn’s favorite tip? Priming.
“This is a game-changer,” she says. “Priming is a practice created by Tony Robbins, and it’s something I’ve found incredibly helpful for boosting my mental wellness.”
So what is priming?
Think of it as a multi-step morning ritual that resets your nervous system and shifts your focus toward gratitude, clarity, and joy. Here's how DaLynn breaks it down:
1. Start with the Breath
Priming begins with energizing breathwork—30 quick inhalations and exhalations while lifting your arms up and down. You do this cycle three times with short rests in between.
This breathwork jumpstarts your body and mind, helping to shake off sluggish energy and invite in vitality.
2. Step into Gratitude
Next, DaLynn suggests reflecting on three moments you’re deeply grateful for. “Step into those memories like they’re happening again,” she says. “Feel the joy, the peace, the love.”
This step invites your heart to lead the way, grounding you in appreciation before anything else touches your day.
3. Visualize Healing Light
“Imagine a light coming in through the crown of your head,” DaLynn explains. “Let it flow through your body, into the earth, and back up again.” Then, imagine sending that light out from your heart—to friends, family, even strangers.
It’s a visualization that reconnects you with your own divine energy and with the people around you.
4. Manifest with Intention
Next, choose three goals you want to work on. Visualize them as if they’ve already happened. Feel the joy, the pride, the gratitude for the people (and higher power) who helped you along the way.
This is where your dreams begin to take shape—anchored in belief and supported by emotion.
5. Recall Your Bravery and Strength
Finally, DaLynn recommends revisiting powerful memories—when you felt courageous, guided, or proud. These are reminders of who you already are and the strength you carry forward every
“I love priming because it helps me start the day with intention and love,” DaLynn says. “Our brains are wired for survival, not happiness. That means they’re always scanning for problems. If we want to feel more joy, we have to give our brains better material to work with.”
If you’re craving more calm, connection, and clarity in your mornings, this practice could be a powerful ally in your routine. You don’t have to be perfect. You just have to start.
